Comic sans!
(15:02:01)
Yes, but can you do F11?
(15:02:12)

Nico Schottelius

(15:02:49)

Simon Lockhart
I missed this presentation at NANOG last week because they moved it in the agenda :(
(15:03:12)

Andreas Härpfer
Then why oh why does GCP still *not* have IPv6?
(15:04:11)

Simon Lockhart
@andreas because it doesn't connect to the treadmills?
(15:04:55)

Michael Richardson
:-( on GCP+IPv6.
(15:06:03)

Christian Bretterhofer
can we list 3rd-party VPN systems which work/not work on ipv6 only?
(15:06:55)
i donot care for Gym Treadmills
(15:07:59)

Lia Hestina
Christian, would you like to ask that question to the speaker? If you do, please state your question via Q&A window
(15:09:00)

Michael Richardson
wow. Finally, the Killer App for IPv6!
(15:10:44)

Shane Kerr
This WiFi pilot sounds like a good plan for the RIPE meeting, should we ever have a face-to-face meeting ever again.
(15:13:14)

Michael Richardson
FOSDEM has been IPv6-only for some time. IETF has had IPv6-only too. I thought RIPE had that already.
(15:13:46)

Raymond Jetten
SHane : we discussed it in rotterdam for to be in berlin, but....
(15:13:57)

Brian Trammell
....$100 or 6 IPv4 addresses...
(15:14:04)

Michael Richardson
I don't think there is a lot more to learn. RFC8925 !!
(15:14:14)

Andreas Härpfer
@Michael there has been a v6-only network at RIPE meetings for quite a while now, it just wasn't the default.

Brian Nisbet_930
Veronika's work on this in MS is amazing.
(15:17:52)

Tom Hill
Useful Marek, thanks - voted
(15:18:15)

Andreas Härpfer
@Christian re MS … yeah, but Github still doesn't have IPv6 :-(
(15:18:33)

Michael Richardson
The spotify links are all marked inactive, we can't upvote them :-(
(15:19:11)

Brian Trammell
are the github net folks in the house?
(15:19:22)
michael: you don't have to follow the links from Jen's link, just log in to spotify and click "vote" on the right.
(15:19:52)

Tom Hill
Is there some irony that the Spotify web player (open.spotify.com) is on Google Cloud, and presents a AAAA record? :)
(15:19:52)

Brian Trammell
:D
(15:19:59)

Christian Bretterhofer
I run a ipv6 to github proxy for me ..
(15:20:06)

Tom Hill
Work laptop: test-ipv6.com, 0/10
(15:20:49)
Own computer on same network: 10/10
(15:21:04)

Andreas Härpfer
@Tom: LBs in Google Cloud *do* have IPv6, but VPCs don't.
(15:21:06)

Shane Kerr
Does Meetecho work on NAT64? :-D
(15:21:10)

Tom Hill
I have some work to do, clearly.
(15:21:10)

Ave Ozkal
Apparently spotify desktop can be used on NAT64 if you use --experimental-network
(15:21:12)

Christian Bretterhofer
open.spotify.com. 277 IN CNAME edge-web-split-geo.dual-gslb.spotify.com. edge-web-split-geo.dual-gslb.spotify.com. 150 IN AAAA 2600:1901:1:c36::
(15:21:21)

Tom Hill
@Andreas: do they not do some NAT64 to hide that?
(15:21:37)

Michael Richardson
Meetecho works on NAT64. and IPv6-only.
(15:22:02)

Andreas Härpfer
@Tom: You mean when accessing hosts via their external IP … AFAIK not
(15:22:55)

Stefan Hedenig
@tom Funnily enough, that test scores my PC 10/10 even though it doesn't even have an IPv6 address
(15:22:58)

Jørgen Hovland
Any news about the Google vs Cogent ipv6 peering war btw ? Google is still without full ipv6 coverage in 2020
(15:23:03)

Ondrej Caletka
IPv4-first: is she talking about GCP? :)
(15:23:03)

Ave Ozkal
Let's just abolish cogent
(15:23:30)
No more spam, no more peering wars
(15:23:51)

Tom Hill
I suspect that until HE play the same peering game as Cogent, there won't be any peering.
(15:23:54)

James Blessing
@ave but you'd miss their super megz ix project
(15:24:12)

Tom Hill
It is probably time for HE to adopt a grown-up policy on peering, but that's not my job to figure out :)
(15:24:23)
(At least not currently)
(15:24:34)

Marek Barczyk
how about "Test-of-5G-net" ssid name? ;)
(15:25:08)

Fredy Kuenzler

(15:25:26)

(15:28:32)

Tom Hill
Really enjoyed that, Jen. Thank you. I'll be sending the recording to everyone that tells me Enterprises "can't use IPv6" :)
(15:28:35)

Stefan Wahl
nice talk, Jen.

(15:30:37)

Wolfgang Tremmel
upvoted your spotify feature request
(15:31:02)

Nico Schottelius
What about "Attention-Evil-IPv4-Monsters-might-eat-you"
(15:31:07)

Jen Linkova
hopefully with RFC8925 we can get rid of multiple SSIDs.
(15:31:09)

Ave Ozkal
Have a poop emoji as the SSID
(15:31:18)
I did that before. It works.
(15:31:23)

Franziska Lichtblau_911
Nico, dont attract excitement seekers ;)
(15:31:24)

Fredy Kuenzler
@jen can you share the link where to upvote Spotify request
(15:31:28)

Wolfgang Tremmel

(15:31:39)

Jen Linkova
Nico: we need something short, your Macbook would probably show it as 'Attention...' which is not what we want ;))
(15:31:45)

Nico Schottelius
Ave, that's the reason why we moved a lot of IoT devices from Arduino to PI/embedded Linux -> having a real OS == having a real IPv6 stack
(15:32:13)

Andreas Härpfer
poop emoji would be very short :-)
(15:32:27)

Jen Linkova

(15:34:42)

Franziska Lichtblau_911
Your ipv6 friendly botnet ;)
(15:34:45)

Ave Ozkal
Jen, did you see the "--experimental-network" switch btw?
(15:34:57)

Fredy Kuenzler
we are no longer nerds, we are bots
(15:35:07)

Jen Linkova
They have more than a year to get it fixed ;))))
(15:35:13)

Ave Ozkal
Obviously not a good fix, but can help people get it working in the meanwhile.
(15:35:14)

Jen Linkova
Yeah, I have. AFAIK it works in the browser mode too...
(15:35:29)
I have an action item long overdue - to publish the 'know issues' and the workarounds somewhere....
(15:35:54)

Ave Ozkal
That'd be great
(15:36:04)

Jen Linkova
Stay tuned...
(15:36:12)

Ave Ozkal
in convincing people to go IPv6-only
(15:36:14)

Andy Davidson
How hard is it for someone trustworthy and neutral to solve this lack of central repo problem?
(15:36:43)
it sounds like lack of central repo is a manufactured problem so that we don't upset commercial pigeons providers
(15:36:57)
wtf, I typed ipgeo and it auto-corrected to pigeons
(15:37:08)

Leo Vegoda
Heh :-)
(15:37:25)

Mohamad Choaib
hehe
(15:37:29)

Jen Linkova
ok, thanks to everyone - as it's 1:40am here, I might need to drop off...if anyone would like to have a chat about IPv6 - you know where to find me...and please join our IPv6 WG session on Thu!!!
(15:37:44)

Stefan Wahl
will do
(15:37:58)

Maximilian Wilhelm
good night :-)
(15:38:20)

Lia Hestina
Andy, is that a question for the current speaker, if yes, please state your question via Q&A window with your name and affiliation. Thank you.
(15:38:36)

Andy Davidson
ok, I will and I will try to do so in a way that is less rude to commercial ipgeo/pigeon providers
(15:39:07)

Wolfgang Tremmel
or queue up for the microphone once Massimo has finished
(15:39:16)

Lia Hestina
That's also possible :)
(15:39:33)

Robert Kisteleki
indeed you don't want to upset commercial pigeon providers
(15:39:39)

Tom Hill
Oh no... It's goofeed time!
(15:39:59)

Michael Richardson
but, about the geofeed: attribute? What would it take to just implement that in the five RIRs, and forget about this remark hack?
(15:40:42)

Wolfgang Tremmel
geofeed over avian carriers?
(15:40:44)

Marek Barczyk
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
(15:44:04)

Sasha Romijn
The geofeed: attribute will be supported in the next release of IRRd, btw: https://github.com/irrdnet/irrd/pull/404
(15:46:39)

Andy Davidson
pull 404? won't it just say that all feeds are not found? :)
(15:47:04)

Wolfgang Tremmel
sorry, no more questions please, we are already over time
(15:49:41)

Peter Koch
the own vs control question might be interesting input for the database task force ...
