Hi everyone, I’m Maxim Burtikov from the RIPE NCC. This chat panel is meant for discussion ONLY. If you have questions for the speaker and you want the session chair to read it out, please write it in the Q&A window stating your name and affiliation. Otherwise, you can ask questions using the microphone icon.
thought you would change it to Irish :(
No worries Maxim my bad - apologies
James *shush* don't tell them the secret plan!
@James will be nice to have RIPE in Gaeilge :)
oh sorry, wrong group..
the stenographers would i'm sure be ok with it anyway
it would be pretty sound to change to irish, it would, I'd be happy to write to yer man to say the ideas tooting.
Google translate tells me: réseaux IP european --> líonraí ip na hEorpa in Irish. So we would be called "lipnahE"?
to be honest, makes a lot of sense to me :)
@Kaveh perfect! rolls off the tongue
speaking as a newcomer, and speaking of languages that roll of the tongue, would love to see an organization including Italian.
Hi Avri *waves*
speaking as an Italian, I do not look forward to see RIPE NCC spending our money to help my competitors who did not invest in learning english
thanks for this, it's appreciated
thre is one
interesting point Marco
Hi Fergal, Good initiative.. How is your Dutch moving along ? :)
Marco, could be something for Q&A as comment?
Thanks Fergal, great initiative for broadening inclusion and engagement
Robert: I do not feel that my position would have enough support
You could anyway mention it, just to be noted as well
(@Avri since you labelled yourself a new comer, I have to say) Hi Avri, welcome to the RIPE Meeting. My name is Kaveh Ranjbar and I work for the RIPE NCC. Would be more than happy to support you in getting most of the meeting. :)
Thanks you Kaveh, very much appreciate it.
Avri is a newcomer?
how that that happen? :)
it is my first RIPE mtg
'plain english' would alreadh help
"plain english" +1
or even if you _are_ a native english speaker.
Does that mean we get translation when Jim is speaking ? :P
On the subject of 'which languages', might it be useful to track the regional meetings as areas of focus? If reaching out is important in that aspect, perhaps those are the areas that would benefit the most from native language documentation?
we already get stenography when Jim is speaking
(As a general question to the group - not for Q&A)
Hi Tom, please write your question in the Q&A panel (icon with question mark) or please wait until the end of the talk and ask your question using audio. Thank you!

wow, great work! adheres the the 'Blokzijl Principle': achieve goal with minimal formalism.
The Q&A is a bit borked. I didn't give a affiliation at first. When I retried I couldn't add an affiliation.
Felipe Victolla Silveira
Sorry for my internet connection issues. I had no idea of the extent of the problem during the presentation
YEs, the recommendation is to put name and affiliation both into the name field.
Bengt: Sorry, I didn't see any Q&A from you, did I miss it?
This session has now ended. The next session is RIPE NCC General Meeting and it will start at 18:00 (UTC+1). More info on the RIPE 81 meeting plan: https://ripe81.ripe.net/programme/meeting-plan/
